We Reveal The ‘Most British’ Cities In The UK

With the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations coming up in June, it only seems right to celebrate our great British identity and everything that makes us who we are.

From our rainy weather to our world-famous fish and chips, British culture is one of a kind, portrayed wherever you go across the UK.

However, which of our amazing UK cities is typically the most British?

Our experts here at Vendula London have analysed 4 ‘typically British’ factors to find the top cities that truly stand out the most when it comes to showing off our British culture.

We looked at…

  • How many pubs there are per 100,000 people
  • How many fish and chip shops there are per 100,000 people
  • How close the city is to the national average days of rainfall a year (135.9)
  • How many National Trust sites there are in the city’s county

… and ranked our cities in the following order:

1 - Truro, Cornwall

2 - Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear

3 - Bangor, Gwynedd

4 - Durham, County Durham

5 - Ripon, North Yorkshire

6 - Bath, Somerset

7 - Lincoln, Lincolnshire

7 - (Joint). Bristol

8 - Chester, Cheshire

8 - (Joint). Plymouth
